Terms of Service

Effective version: September 19, 2026

By creating an account or using Cadence, you agree to these terms. We've written them in plain language — please read them.

1. What Cadence is

Cadence is a personal planning and reflection tool. It helps you build a weekly schedule, set reminders, track goals, log life events and reflect on how you're feeling, with the help of AI.

Cadence is not therapy, counselling, diagnosis, medical care, crisis monitoring, financial advice or any other professional service. The AI's reflections and suggestions are supportive prompts, not professional judgement. For urgent danger or a possible medical emergency, contact local emergency services directly.

2. Your account

You must provide an accurate email address and keep your password private. You are responsible for everything that happens under your account.

You must be at least 16 years old to use Cadence.

3. Acceptable use

Don't use Cadence for anything unlawful, don't try to access other people's data, don't probe or disrupt the service, and don't use it to store or process other people's personal information without their consent.

We may suspend or remove accounts that abuse the service.

4. Your content and data

Everything you enter — your goals, schedule, check-ins, reflections and chats — belongs to you. Account-level controls prevent other users from accessing it, but the service is not end-to-end encrypted and authorized operators and processors can technically access stored data when required to operate or secure Cadence.

When you enable AI features, relevant inputs are processed by AI models to generate plans, reflections and answers. We don't sell your personal data, and you can turn off AI processing in Settings.

You can export your data, clear selected private history, or permanently delete your account in Settings.

5. The AI's limits

AI-generated schedules, reflections and answers can be wrong, incomplete or badly timed. Cadence is a tool to support your judgement, not replace it. Always sanity-check important decisions yourself.

Safety detection can miss urgent language or respond incorrectly. Cadence cannot verify your identity or location, contact emergency services, report automatically to authorities, or guarantee intervention. See the Safety page for immediate resources.

Cadence is designed to respect your autonomy. It must not use shame, threats, hidden persuasion or dependence-building to keep you engaged. You control reminders and may decline its suggestions.

6. Future practitioner features

Cadence does not currently provide a clinician portal, treatment, patient monitoring, telehealth, or emergency escalation. Any future practitioner access will require separate verification, explicit granular consent, revocable permissions, audit trails, and applicable clinical, privacy and legal safeguards.

7. Availability and changes

We aim to keep Cadence available and improving, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted service. Features may change over time. If we make significant changes to these terms, we will update this page.

8. Liability

Cadence is provided “as is”. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses — including missed events, lost data from factors outside our control, or decisions made based on AI suggestions.

Questions about these terms? See our Privacy Policy for how your data is handled, and our Safety page for emergency boundaries.
